December Newsletter 2024
We bear long-awaited news; our new generator arrived this month! The delivery and installation were quite an ordeal due to the wall surrounding our property. It was a bit nerve-racking when delivery involved ordering a crane. When the generator arrived, they, wrapped the old generator in a chain, hoisted it over the wall, and loaded it on a delivery truck as we sold our old generator to the pastor of Omega church. Then, in the street, they wrapped the new generator in chains, hoisted it over the wall, and delivered it safely onto our generator pad. It was a nerve-racking and exciting delivery, and we are happy the installation went without incident.
Later in the month, we attended the joint Christmas service with all those within the Evangelical Church of The Gambia which is always a lively collection of saints. Michele helped with the children’s Christmas program and Nativity Scene, at Omega Church, where Luke played a shepherd. On the ABWE property this Christmas season, we invited some neighbors and the youth group to help decorate for Christmas. In November, one of Michele's Muslim friends asked multiple times if she could join us in decorating again this year. By the time the day arrived to decorate she was nine months pregnant and in labor, but she came. She delivered her baby girl less than twenty-four hours later.
Our in-house TV celebrity Alyssa was invited once again for the opportunity to guest star in the local TV network show "Teen Tok". The show speaks about submitted topics and answers them from a biblical perspective.
We are also pleased to report that we have officially booked plane tickets for our visit to the United States starting in July 2025. We cannot wait to see all of you and report in person. Please contact us via email at Patrick.Reed@abwego.org so we can plan our time together. We are also thrilled and extremely grateful to announce that Faith Community Church, has agreed to house us for our entire time in the USA. Glory to God for answered prayers. Now, we will not have to travel from state to state with all of our belongings. We are also pleased to report that we have confirmed some volunteers to cover the ABWE Gambia guesthouse ministry from July to December. Praise God for His timing is perfect.
